Teaching How New Scientific Tools and Techniques Advance Science

A major new project, Scientific Thinking for All, aims to bring the benefits of a successful college course focused on scientific thinking to middle and high school students. Led by Nobelist Saul Perlmutter, a total of 6 units are being developed. 

Unit 1 is entitled Evidence and Iteration in Science. Its Activity 3 focuses on teaching how new scientific tools and techniques contribute to the advancement of science, using image detection and water on Mars as examples.
